Our program in Tanzania opened its doors in 1989 and has since grown to be the country’s largest sexual and reproductive health services provider. organization.
With generous support from US donors, dozens of outreach teams travel over mountains and across grasslands to reach the most remote and marginalized communities. Through our outreach visits and at our clinics, we offer a full range of contraceptive methods, including long-acting and permanent methods, as well as care after unsafe abortions, maternity care, and STI testing.
Nearly three million women in Tanzania want to avoid an unintended pregnancy but aren’t using modern contraception, often because it simply isn’t available. MSI Tanzania partners closely with the government and local health authorities to ensure we’re reaching the areas where need is the greatest. By traveling to the hardest-to-reach areas, we help poor women and women with no other options take control of their bodies and futures.
