MSI Nigeria at the Gender and Inclusion Summit

MSI participated in the Gender and Inclusion Summit, an annual conference in Nigeria that focuses on the development of gender equality and inclusion.

MSI Nigeria spoke at the plenary of the summit to discuss the topic “How Do We Address Gender Disparities that Exacerbate Poverty?” The session provided an opportunity for the Country Program to share insights about the requirement of modern contraception in Nigeria and how the current unmet needs exacerbate poverty. It also explored the gender barriers which limit access to family planning among women and girls in communities across Nigeria.

Thousands of organisations and individuals participated in the hybrid summit from accross the world. It was a platform for government, policymakers, partners, and donors to explore transformative ways to advance gender equality, inclusion, and gender responsive policies in Nigeria.

Many participants at the event stopped by the colorful MSI Nigeria Exhibition Booth to learn more about the scope of our work in Nigeria. This displayed social marketing products, communication materials, and games that won participants prizes.
