Founded in 1976 by Dr Tim Black, Jean Black and Phil Harvey in what had been the Marie Stopes “Mothers Clinic” in central London, the organization was originally known as Marie Stopes International (MSI). Worldwide, women have come to recognize the MSI logo and our blue doors as a symbol of their right to choose. But, some of Marie Stopes’ (1880-1958) views were in stark contrast to MSI’s core values and principles, and the international non-governmental organization changed its name to MSI Reproductive Choices in 2020, retaining the recognized logo and MSI moniker.
