Host a Fundraiser

One way you can make a difference for women and girls personally is by launching your own fundraiser to rally your friends and family in support of global reproductive health. Read below for more details or get started now!

In this toolkit, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know to start your own fundraiser. It’s quick and easy – and we’re here to help. Feel free to email us at usdonations@msichoices.org or call (202) 601-2825 if you get stuck! 

Creating your Fundraiser, Step-by-Step 

  1. Once you click the link, you’ll be asked to create a title: This can be as simple as “Mary’s Fundraiser” or “Jim’s Birthday Fundraiser”. If you’re fundraising around a special occasion, like a birthday or holiday, you can add it to your title to let people know why you’re fundraising now. 
  2. Add a picture: This is optional, but encouraged. A picture of yourself will reassure your friends and family that the link you’re sending is from you, and not spam! 
  3. Set a goal: This can be any amount you want. It costs just $8 to provide one woman with the contraceptive method of her choice for a year. Set an $80 goal to help 10 women – or encourage your friends to dig deep and help 100!  
  4. Write your message: Briefly tell your friends and family why this cause is important to you. Heartfelt is better than perfect, so don’t stress if you aren’t sure exactly what to say. 
  5. Set a deadline: A deadline helps add urgency. You might pick an upcoming birthday, holiday, or just a day a week or two in the future. 
  6. Input your email: Once you’ve filled out all the fields, you’ll be asked to input your email, and we’ll send you a verification code. Enter that code on the form to receive a link to your custom fundraising page. 
  7. Share your fundraiser: Now, you’re ready to get started! You can share the link with friends and family and start raising money.

I’m writing to tell you about a cause that’s near to my heart. MSI United States provides contraception, safe abortion, and other reproductive healthcare to women and girls in 36 countries. Their work in countries like Zimbabwe and Uganda is at risk because of U.S. politics. I want to support them, and I ‘m hoping you’ll join me to help  make a difference!

Our contributions can make a big impact for women and girls: 
 
$8 – Provides one woman with the contraceptive method of her choice for a year 
$15 – Delivers one cervical cancer screening, detecting and treating cancer cells 
$32 – Gives one adolescent girl the chance to finish school by delivering counseling and contraception to avoid unintended pregnancy. 
$52 – Provides one woman with safe abortion care and follow-up
